Biography:
The Silver Surfer is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. His first appearance was in *Fantastic Four* #48 (March 1966).
Originally known as Norrin Radd from the planet Zenn-La, he bargained with the cosmic entity Galactus to spare his homeworld from destruction. In exchange, Norrin became Galactus' herald, imbued with the Power Cosmic and transformed into the Silver Surfer.
The Silver Surfer travels the cosmos, searching for planets for Galactus to consume. His metallic skin and surfboard are byproducts of the Power Cosmic. Although initially bound to serve Galactus, he eventually rebelled and became a protector of Earth.
The Chrome Silver Surfer is the standard version of the character featuring a chrome or silver skin tone.
